Roosevelt Democrat Central
On the 6th day of January in the year 1941, Franklin Delano Roosevelt gave the Four Freedoms Speech. We need to focus back upon that speech and reflect how far we have come as a country from those fundamental principles that our Country in 1789 accepted as our Heritage.
Each of these Freedoms come with great Responsibilities.
For our Freedom of Speech we have the responsibility to allow others their Freedom of Speech.
For our Freedom of Worship we have the responsibility to acknowledge that no Religion has the right to deny Freedom of Expression of Religion in Worship.
For our Freedom from Want we have the responsibility to provide the basic needs to all of the people in the USA. Implied here is the need to extend, when possible this freedom from want throughout the world.
For our Freedom of Fear we have the responsibility to support all who are being denied their Human Rights.
I post this today because the Election is getting very loud about who we should allow these freedoms. The answer is simple. All who seek these freedoms here at home and across the world.
The Notion that any people or any religion should be removed from the USA is an affront to us all, for if I can Violate your freedom of Speech or Worship, then my Freedoms are threatened. If I am left in fear of Want for housing, food, and other blessings of Life, we are all in danger. And if I fear that my Freedoms can be taken by Mob Rule directed by hate mongers, There is no Freedom from fear for any of us.
These four Freedoms are the basic building our Political and when the ugly head of Bigotry and Xenophobia raises in it out duty to strike it down. No person should ever be the leader of our Country if they can not stand with Pride in full support of FDR's Vision of Freedom.
